Over 200,000 Ontario seniors, families and single and married adults are currently on the Housing Wait Lists of our province. Almost half of these applicants are in Toronto.
Providing safe secure affordable housing for these individuals and families with personalized supports will save taxpayers money as the chart to the left (from City of Calgary) highlights.
While developers are creating a few new 'affordable' units with every project and Municipal and Regional governments acquire a few new apartments each year, a major increase in housing stock is needed to meet the current and future demand for those in our neighbourhoods who are most in need.
Creating a legal secondary suite in existing homes will provide every community with more affordable housing stock and strong vibrant neighbourhoods!
